Source separation matters

The general GeoNames gazetteer contains populated places as well as many other geographic feature types. Postal-code records are distributed as a separate GeoNames dataset with a different schema and different semantics. ZipCodeGlobe keeps those sources separate and only connects them for navigation and analysis. This prevents a city coordinate or population field from being misrepresented as a postal-authority fact.
